One of the greatest joys of my job is the sheer variety of properties I get to sell – from different types and price points to diverse locations. Every auction brings its own unique story, atmosphere, and unforgettable moments.

The July 2025 auction market for the Gold Coast & Northern Rivers reflected that diversity in every way. Across the region, we achieved a 72.1% success rate within six weeks, with an average of 2.9 registered bidders and 1.8 active bidders per auction. The highest sale price reached $8,150,000, while the lowest came in at $500,000 – proof that auctions are delivering results across all ends of the market.

A couple of weekends ago, I had a Saturday morning auction just across the border in Tweed Heads South, NSW. This two-level, three-bedroom townhouse attracted seven registered bidders, with three actively participating. The excitement in the air was palpable as bidding climbed and the hammer eventually fell.

The best part? Seeing the sheer delight on the faces of the family who had just purchased their very first home – the kids jumping for joy, mum and dad sharing hugs and happy tears. That moment is why I love what I do.

Property: 7/9 William St, Tweed Heads South
Agent: Jarrod Thomas – RBR
Sale Price: $720,000

The following morning presented a completely different scenario – a luxury waterfront home in one of the Gold Coast’s most prestigious streets. With six registered bidders and four actively participating, bidding opened at $6 million and rapidly climbed to $10.2 million before a short negotiation break. The property eventually sold for an incredible $10.6 million.

The anticipation, expectation, and emotion from both buyers and sellers were intense. Despite the higher price point, the tension and excitement were every bit as real as the day before.

Property: 315 Monaco St, Broadbeach Waters
Agents: Michael Kollosche & Gypsea Youngsmith – Kollosche
Sale Price: $10,600,000

If there’s one takeaway from these two auctions, it’s this: regardless of the property’s value, the stakes are always high for everyone involved. An auction is, without doubt, the most transparent and effective way to achieve the best possible result.

Across the Gold Coast & Northern Rivers in July 2025, the market delivered strong results, achieving a 72.1% success rate within six weeks. Auctions averaged 2.9 registered bidders and 1.8 active bidders, with the highest sale price for the month reaching $8,150,000 and the lowest at $500,000. This breadth of results shows just how effective the auction method is, no matter the property type or price point. Broadbeach Waters recorded the highest number of auctions called in the region.
